English Course in Manila

Academia is the official language and review center of Fountain International School (FIS).

Academia is under the Integrative Center for Alternative Development (ICAD) Foundation, Inc., which is  a Filipino-Turkish foundation established in 1996.

Academia is located in Atlanta Centre, Greenhills, San Juan City.  

All teachers in Academia majored in Education and Communication with extensive experience in teaching English as a second language in regular schools and tutorial centers.

Our courses generally run from 1-2 months.

Short courses are also available depending on the student’s availability.

Students must take the placement test to know their English level.

Our test is based on the Placement and Evaluation of the Interchange and the Passages series of Cambridge University.

Each course has a specific textbook.

We require books published by Cambridge University and other world-recognized publishers (e.g. Oxford, Longman, Compass, etc.)

You can tour around and enjoy beautiful places in and nearby Metro Manila (e.g. Laguna, Batangas, Subic, Cavite, Baguio, Davao, etc.)

These excursions are also filled with fun activities.

Our classes are from 8 am to 5 pm (Monday – Friday).

Classes after 5 pm can also be arranged.

Some classes are also held on Saturdays.

Online English classes are adjusted to the time zone of the students

A group class has 3-7 students. 

A one-on-one class is a class with one student and one teacher.

It is personalized and student-centered to directly focus on the needs of the student.

It is held in Academia’s cubicles. 

The students mainly come from Europe and Asia. They are from primary school to university and professionals. 

Academia’s classware is the Interactive Whiteboard Software developed by Cambridge-Hitachi.

It presents the Interchange and Grammar in-use book series in a software platform filled with audio-visual lessons and exercises. 

Cubicles are small rooms equipped with sound-proof acoustic and multi-media facilities for one-on-one classes.

The student dormitories are located in Greenhills, San Juan City and Quezon City.

Greenhills is the commercial district of San Juan City, a highly-urbanized city in the Philippines.

Quezon City is the most populous city in the Philippines.

One room has at least three students.

This is to encourage student interaction and help foster better learning experiences apart from the regular classes.

The fees depend on:

 -the kind of class that a student takes (group or one-on-one)

-total class hours

(Academia’s class hour is 45 minutes)

-accommodation

(if a student stays in the dormitory)

Expenses for excursions are not included unless they are packaged or availed in promotion.

You may use your credit card in paying the fees. Though, cash payments are encouraged.

We require down payment (at least 25%) before a student can start the class.

A reservation fee (deductible from the total fee) may be required during the student placement test.

Refund is allowed within a specified period only.

After taking the student placement test, you can already enroll. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Pay the corresponding fees for your course and class hours (also dormitory accommodation if applicable).

2. Fill in our student enrollment form.

You will be informed of your class schedule afterwards. Then, you can already start your class!

You may enroll online, especially if you are availing our Online English program or if you want to immediately start your class  once you arrive in the Philippines.

In other cases, we recommend enrollment at the center.
